Public Ranch Tours
On this 4 hour tour (9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.) of the ranch you will see the results of 37 years of habitat restoration. We will show you projects which demonstrate principles of good stewardship. You may also see dinosaur tracks, fossil beds, a herd of endangered Scimitar-horned Oryx, the “Chiroptorium” which is a man made bat cave designed to hold a million Mexican Free-tailed bats. You’ll walk the nature trail and then enjoy Madrone Lake as you watch “The Rain Machine.” Transportation is on the Bluebonnet, an open air trailer with a shade bonnet, so dress for the weather; and don’t forget a hat!
Note: Public tours are designed and intended for individuals who cannot come up with the group minimum size for a private group tour (20). The maximum number of people we can handle on a tour is 40 so if you have a group of people interested in touring the ranch, we suggest you schedule a private tour at a different time. For public tours we will not be able to give any one group more than 10 spaces so that we can keep enough open spaces for individuals.
