Steven Fulton
Ranch Manager
Steven grew up on a 150-acre vegetable farm in Falls County, Texas where he learned many life lessons and the value of a long day’s work. He graduated from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor with a B.S. in Biology.
Steven brings a background in all aspects of ranching, field biology, and land surveying with him. His former position as a biologist for The Nature Conservancy included mapping Black-capped Vireo habitat and operating as their Oak Wilt Specialist.
Steven came to the ranch through a connection to the BRP Board of Directors’ Botanical Advisor, who happened to also be Steven’s supervisor at the Nature Conservancy. Steven was hired in 2003 and started out as a Stewardship Coordinator and Science Educator.
Now, as the Ranch Manager, Steven’s main role is to oversee the management of the 5,500 acres of land that comprises the BRP. This includes managing wildlife as well as coordinating our hunting program.
Steven also manages the upkeep of ranch infrastructures and assists with “people ranching” in our educational programs and tours.
Steven is blessed to reside on the ranch with his wife of 18 years, Amanda, their 15 year-old son, Aiden, and their 9 year-old daughter, Emrie.
