a tough call but glad you did it. Will be interesting to see the response of wildlife as the plants make a come back. When friend Michael G took his cows off his very sorry caliche exposed land in 2008, we weren't sure what would show up. BUT after some decent rains the next summer I found pathces of Indian grass and big bluestem! didn't even know they were on his land. Had the longhorns been there the sprouts would've been munched immediately.

let me know how I can help. It will be a great learning exercise.

When I was a young man getting out of the service I went to work for Dave Bamberger selling Kirby Vacuum cleaners. I learned to greatly admire David and it is safe to say he taught me much about the business world that served me well all of my life. David was also the best man in our wedding on June 1, 1960. We are still married, have 4 children, 6 grandbabies, and 1 great grandchild.
My wife, Velma, and I visited and had lunch at Mama's with Dave in San Antonio about 10 years ago. I have been able to keep up with him from time to time and am always delighted anytime I see him in the news or on 60 minutes.
I hope Dave will see this message and know how fondly we always think of him. Also, so sorry to have read several years ago that he lost his second wife.
David Bamberger is truly a great gentleman and great American. I am sure he influenced many others as the years went by. I still get a warm glow when I think of the Kirby Company of San Antonio, 703 W. Hildebrand Ave., PE 61615 (before area codes). Dave and Bert. God Speed David !!
